Demo Course Blog - Prevalence of ankylosing spondylitis is as high as 0.1 to 0.5% in the adult population
Ankylosing spondylitis is a chronic inflammatory arthritis which affects the spinal cord. Untreated AS leads to prominent spinal deformity induced by fusion of vertebrae. Significant deformity can be avoided when the condition is diagnosed early and treatment begins. In order to do this, recognition of clinical features early is the key.
- Recognize key clinical features of ankylosing spondylitis ( AS) to aid in timely diagnosis
- Incorporate classification criteria and diagnostic tests into clinical practice to support early detection of AS
- Implement biologic treatments for AS into clinical practice when appropriate
